Version 1 limitation

Holy Cross Heat Safe does not continuously poll WBGT after the app is fully closed. Reliable background alerts require a push-notification service/backend in a later version.

Data sources

Current WBGT: calculated from the freshest active weather input. Auto mode prefers Synoptic high-frequency station data when a token is configured, otherwise uses a fresh location-model estimate, with NWS station data as fallback/cross-check. Every automatic value is labeled as an estimate.

Forecast WBGT: NWS raw forecast-grid wetBulbGlobeTemperature layer when available.

Field measurement: an on-site WBGT meter overrides all remote estimates.
